Have a great day!

thanks gary! Wow… I live really close to your store… I need to stop buy. You do events there? Love to meet you some time.
June 13th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Gary,
I had the privilege to meet you at Wine Library on New Years Eve and you spent about one hour with me and my brother in law which blew us both away. I know how valuable your time is and you showed me around the store and I even sat at the table where WLTV is taped. I just want everyone to know how kind and authentic you really are. Forget wine and scores, you are a gem. If anyone can meet all the people on the planet my bet is on you.
June 13th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Even when I drink beer/wine alone I can’t wait to tell my peeps in IRC about the great new thing I tried and how it affected me. It’s sharing what excites me that keeps me excited about new and interesting things. I feel bad for my car pool, every morning they get to listen to me ramble about what I cooked the night before and how my pairing worked out.

Just viewed this after reading about Tim Russert’s passing. I am not sure that Tim is my all time favorite TV news person, but he definitely had the common touch, and could communicate effectively with everyone. I am sure Tim would love to do his job well along with personally meeting every person on the planet, if he had the time to do that.

Hey bro…great stuff….man I miss kicking it one on one….! I feel what you’re saying 100%…I realized in Iraq what life was really all about…it’s the small moments with special people that you Cherish the most…In combat I was faced with many life or death moments when I had to realize that I may never play catch with my father or give my sister a hug or have a great conversation and laugh with a friend….It was these things that ran through my mind when I thought I was living my last seconds of life…so I now understand what is really important….what really holds value during life and after it….good stuff man…miss ya much …out
June 13th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
Amen, Gary! I long ago got tired of keeping score of anything. You just deserve an amen.
On a note about me meeting you, I waited and waited when you first announced your book tour to see when you’d be coming to my area, and then you go and choose June 19 for Boston. Which is the same night as my Dad’s birthday–the birthday he decided to fly up from Florida to spend with his new granddaughter. You being the family man, I know you know why I never considered making it to the Boston event, but I still curse about the date to my wife (in fun!).
June 13th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
You are a REAL inspiration, Gary. Real, as in the fact that you are SO accessible and SO invested in everyone. Thanks for hangin’ at the Conan release in the UES a while back. You’re contagious, man. Keep it going. No doubt you will.
June 13th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
Well - you’re right. Although - those models aren’t that bad
It’s all about people, it’s all about small things. I often start to think at night about life, I look at my girlfriend, I get back to my parents and I think about all those small things. That dad bought me a gum when I was 5 (and he never did that before) or that my girlfriend did something funny - just for 10 seconds but I remember that and cherish that. It’s all about that.
And sometimes I’m a little bit sad - because I live here - in Poland and you Gary live in NY - so we can’t meet. I still hope that maybe one day you’ll come to Poland for some reason and we will be able to meet. I really really would like that to happen!
Good luck Gary!
June 13th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Well Gary, this is it… this is you, finally in one little video… I mean, how crazy can it be to have that as a goal???? VERY VERY crazy. However, my money is on you… no to literally do it, but in fact to have a positive impact with every single person that you meet or talk to (even if on the phone)…
You know, some were given talents and let circumstances destroy them (think Len Bias?!), others, namly you, are able to exponentially magnify your own talents to a degree not even a math book will explain…
This one from the heart.
(For those reading, I’ve only met Gary personally once at Bounce in NYC and spoke to him for 5 minutes, he might not even remember… yet here I am leaving a comment on his web site… amazing!!)
June 13th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Amen, Gary. That is quite true…
Though I may count the six models on the yacht as 12 people…
June 13th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
GV-
I think it is the quality of people you connect with rather than the quantity. Although connecting with as many as possible may help sort through the quality issues.
As you said, on your death bed it isn’t the amount of money or things that surround you. Rather it is the number of dear close relationships that are truly sorry to see you go.
Great 120, thanks.
June 13th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
BRAVO GARY! BRAVO!
June 13th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Good one-loved the analogy about being old and thinking back. taht was precisely the reason I moved here to taiwan over 20 years ago-didn’t want to have that old ma brain rewind and face: REGRET!
Keep em coming Gary-love these even more than the wrestling dolls…er, the Thunder Show.
June 13th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Hells yes.
We met in Austin @ SXSW (before in SF??), and you truly light up whoever you’re with and wherever you are. Looking forward to your next adventure in SF!
June 13th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Gary,
Haven’t met you yet, but I’ve been following your blog for a while. You and AJ seem like a couple of very interesting folk.
If you’re ever in Arizona, gimmie a tweet - I’d love to meet.
June 13th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Gary, to meet you would be a fine day for me. I really believe in the power of energy focused. You are energy personified. What do I think? I think meeting those that are different from you is an amazing thing. Be personable, be understanding, and be giving of yourself.
Gary, thank you for the bits and bytes again man!

We haven’t met in person, but you were the judge for my Viddler MealToday video at IndyHall. I wasn’t there, but that would be the connection.
June 13th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Awesome! Good plan. We haven’t met in person yet — hopefully soon.
I’m pumped to help with some of your projects this weekend though!

I had the pleasure to meet Gary Vaynerchuk just before PodcampNYC 2.0. Gary is an amazing human being. Down to earth. He took time out his extremely busy schedule to chat with me.
Truly Amazing..
Thanks Gary..

Gary,
Anytime you want to come back to Austin, I will drum up as much support as I can so you meet as many people as possible. It’s not the whole world, but it’s a start ;).
June 13th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Awesome idea.
Gary, you are a juggernaut of positivity. Good meeting you at the Corkscrew in Houston.

See you in Boston!!
June 13th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
We met at AffiliateSummit in Vegas in the blog room. We also went to dinner the second night with the huge group (and huge limo) but I was at the table with Calacanis so we didn’t talk there.
Mark one more off your list!
June 13th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Gary, thanks for the refreshing outlook. We haven’t met yet, but I look forward to the day that you can tick me off as one less person to meet. If you’re lucky you can get two at once with Alex Linebrink and I.
June 13th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Next time you are in Silicon Valley…I’ll buy the wine tasting at Vin Vino Wine Shop in Palo Alto.
June 13th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
As big of an impact as what Gary just said on me, Mr. Grega, your comment blew me away! It’s too bad that it takes something like that to really impose on people what is really important, but if that helps, then hell yeah! Glad you are back and safe!
June 13th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you yet. Hope to in August when I finally can get to the Wine Library. I think your mission in life is as good as any so why not go for it.
June 13th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Hey buddy, we first met at SXSW (with Rob Sandie and then Zuck walked by). Then the wine party in the lobby, wine party taking over the wine bar. It’s been true love ever since…
June 13th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
Very well said Gary. If more people would take the time to truly evaluate the things in this life that matter they too would realize that like you have said, on your death bed all the money and possessions are worth nothing and the only thing that matters is the connection to people and the lives you have touched. Many years ago I wrote something out of my experience as a Firefighter/Paramedic. At the peak of my career I moved on to something else as I had thought I had seen enough on the streets of what one human being could do to another. Three years later I returned to that job I truly loved. Because I knew I made a difference, even if it was one person at a time. I kept this posted on my locker to see at every shift, if for nothing else as a reminder to go out and make a difference in somebody’s life everyday. Today it still hangs above the desk in my office.
I pass this on to you.
“Many people have passed through my life,
I have shared more then a touch with them too,
And as time passes on, their not strangers,
And tomorrow I’ll meet someone new.
A smile and a touch we will share for the moment,
The moment may be all that is there,
Make the life that you live, be the life that you give,
And it only takes a moment to care.”
It’s not just about being human, it’s about being humane.

Keep us posted!
June 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I have spent a few evenings with you. Crushpad in December, De Loach in April and Medjool a couple months ago. Each time you were warm and friendly. You actually seem to make everyone else around you more friendly too. (Maybe it is just the waves of wine that you leave in your wake.)
Anyway thanks. I hope I see you again soon.

Hey Gary,
I met you briefly as SEED last week and I must say, you got through to me. Up until now, it’s been easy for me to pooh-pooh al this personal branding and social networking but I’ve seen the light. Thanks and cheers!

Most excellent objective, sir. I look forward to meeting you sometime soon, as I’ve been frequenting the WL quite often as of late! I work in retail for Target, and will soon be working out of the new store at Union North…which is 2 minutes from the Library! Good for me, good for you, bad for my wallet at times…but as you say, perhaps the most meaningful “score” in life is the relationships we can build with so many amazing people out in the world…including yourself! Thanks for taking up some hefty reigns through Web 2.0, and I hope to toast to the future soon in the flesh.
Keep it up, GV!
- D-Spad -
P.S. Thanks to you (and to Matt!) for signing those three copies of your book for me, my bro-in-law and some close friends of mine…I’m sure it’ll bring much delight to their lives!

A homerun message Gary. I’m hoping you remember our “quality time” at Tech Cocktail Chicago 2 wks ago.
I’m the guy who makes news & blogs talk on iPhones iPods & computers - with the side project of helping the nation’s 10 million visually impaired.
Looking forward to your video for our site to help us do that.
Oh, and Verrryyy coincidentally - I got your “Willy Wonka Golden Ticket” at Borders ChiTown (I’m from Cincy) - And I’m giving away the “special prize” as soon as I know what it is.
Serendipity? I’d say a big “yes”

Hey Gary!
I had the pleasure of meeting you in Houston on 3 nights of your crazy trip for your book! What I was struck by was how genuine you were and you were exactly like you are on WLTV. I mean you even managed to get the valet guy to try an oyster!! Changing the world in general…not just wine!!!! I thank you for your time and the wine at The Corkscrew. Next time I have a Newark overnight…I will @ garyvee you and get down to The Wine Library! Thanks man! Oh and enjoy that video of the guy shaving his mustache!!!!

This really reminds me of an article I recently read about a Chicago woman who knew practically everyone, and used her connections to help everyone she met. The article also discussed a more generalized view of how relationships and connections get you ahead — and just plain happier — in life.

Keep connecting and keep caring!

Yeah Gary, you are THE man! Always bringing value to all of us around the world!
Sent you an e-mail a couple of days ago, explaining that I am brazillian and some other things, and I really really expect that someday I will drop by Wine Library and we’ll meet and talk about wine or football or anything else…that’s MY goal!
Ever coming to Brazil, write me up!

Gary,
I was privileged enough to see you speak at SEED 10 days back. I was excited to learn about you for the first time, and delighted that you were there (even though I went to hear a bunch of those wacky designer people). Thanks for being outrageously inspiring!

Gary,
Great advice! You should check-out Keith Ferrazzi’s book - Never Eat Alone. (www.nevereatalone.com) His whole approach is that personal relationships and business relationships should not have a wall in-between them.
Take care!

Beautiful words Gary.
Here’s my distillation. Yet I guess I bring your concept further…
What you Give Away - You Get To Keep.
Connections lead to relationships — Relationships give you the chance to empower and serve others.
What is strange… something that I have observed in dozens of Great Business Men from the past 100 years…
Is that in return for your service… The Universe has some freaky way of giving back to you - through your bank account.
So in an ideal way, I think you can have both — digits of the heart, and digits in the bank.
Thanks for the reminder.

Great mission Gary! Have you checked out my site http://www.mymission2.com … to see if anyone can help you achieve your mission in life?
June 27th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
I’m not trying to play devil’s advocate, but I think you might find this interesting:
“But you’re wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from human relationships. God’s placed it all around us, it’s in everything, anything thing we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at those things.”
from Into the Wild (the film)

I think you’ll reach your goal. Whether it be video blog, email, TV or any other medium, you are the most accessible “celebrity” I have ever known.
Happy 4th!

Wow, it’s truly amazing - that passion, the goal - i admire it!

I think you are dead on.
I have often thought that the stuff of life, the juice, the magic only exists in our relationships with others. The money or fame or toys are illusions that seduce us but never fulfill us. I struggle with this every day when I catch my self responding to “daddy play with me” with “not now I have work to do”, or choosing to be alone vs. with friends and family.
Steven Covey (The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) did a major study of what is referred to as death-bed literature. This is what people say and think when they are faced with their mortality and overwhelmingly they all talk about friends and family. No one talks about their bank account or business successes but focuses on their relationships.
I think it was Les Brown that said you can measure your impact on life by the number of people who would come to your funeral.
Thanks for taking the time to put these thoughts out there.

Bravo Gary,,,I have lived my life like this for years…it what makes me a happy man….
I live in a modest house..drive old cars…have not had anything flashy or new and shiny in years..but i am so much happier without them….
Love is the most important thing in this word…make that your driving force…only when Love consumes you shall you truly know wealth and happiness!
