This is a really great idea, Gary. There needs to be a website for this or a Facebook app where you can challenge your friends to shave their heads, or something for the community to rally around.

So shaving head for charities distinguish valley people between good and bad? No offense Gary, i totally support charity but going extreme it’s like doing exactly what has been done so far to create a need for charities, third world countries, cancer patients etc.
A suggestion: why not cut the fancy, bling-bling Hollywood red carpet philanthropy crap and save extra bucks instead of isolating yourself or calling out people to do something out of ordinary just to prove they’re on the good side?

I think what you and the Vayner-nation is awesome. As I see it: You recognize that you have been given a great opportunity, using social media to basically drink wine all the time.
But instead of being a jerk about it - you use spare energy to try and promote a good cause.

Taking a leaf from their book, you can setup competitions to “save or shave”. Kevin likes his hair, so he needs to raise more money than the people who want to see him shave it off. This involves everyone in the community, not just the person who is getting their head shaved.
Question - how would Shoemoney play this game?

There’s a charity that sets up events around people volunteering to shave their heads; the shavees raise money and a big party happens when the shaving goes down.
It’s for Pediatric Cancer research, which I can’t really argue with.

I agree with Titanas. Why can’t someone just donate without having to shave their head? If someone asked me to donate to charity I would but not if it involved shaving my head or doing something so extreme. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to donate, just means I don’t want to walk around without hair! Sure, hair grows back but not too many people can pull off the bald look!

I’ve cut my hair to donate to Locks of Love 4 times in the past few years (lengths varying between 10 to 16 inches). The hair they can actually use directly to help those who need it (children who went through chemotherapy, etc.).
The cash has to go through a roller coaster ride before a fraction of it actually gets used to help those in need directly. I’m not saying that it won’t help. I’m just saying, I personally feel more comfortable donating something with a shorter ride to the beneficiary.

may be a good idea if it was 2 people that you pressure. this way, the idea moves much faster. with each person telling 2 more, the amount of people and donations would get much bigger after a few rounds.
also, perhaps the minimum should be lowered to 50.
just a thought! a GREAT idea nonetheless. and calling out famous ppl will get the ball rolling faster!
