Sucks man. So does that mean you are going to auction off your new “old” iPhone when you get the new 3g?? Just curious if you are going to do the K Rose and Alex line of thought

  2. Robert Day Says:

That iPhone is pretty unique! I just hope I don’t drop my 3G one too much :D

  3. Milos Says:

That sucks, but at least you can get the new one now. Supplies have increase a day or two ago so it shouldn’t be as difficult to get it this week.

    Good luck!

  4. Jimmy T Says:

dude, that sucks! let us know if you are able to get the 3g.

  5. Brian Social Says:

I’ve got the white 16G iPhone 3G. I dig it.

Love the haircut - Run, Forrest, Run!

  6. Jim Kukral Says:

Don’t think you’re going to get one here in Cleveland tomorrow either. I went to the one Apple store in the area yesterday and it was a two-hour wait. :(

See you at the book signing in Cleveland GV!

  7. Jeff Hunter Says:

SUCKS! But where are you going to find an Old iPhone?!?!?

  8. Robert Howells Says:

    Gary,

The Iphone sucks. Get the HTC Diamond and free yourself from the shackles of Apple.

  9. Jon-Paul Lenczuk Says:

Sorry to hear of the loss, Gary. I don’t know about the Iphone, but like Robert, I’ve also steered toward HTC. I have the Mogul, and love it.

  10. Mark B Says:

Gary, your power button is jammed down. This is exactly what happens when I continuously hold the power button down on my 1G iphone. See if you can’t pry it up? Just a thought.

  11. Justin Thorp Says:

Your hotel looks like a Kimpton Hotel (http://kimptonhotels.com/). Is it? They rock. I stay at those all the time.

  12. Jill Says:

Make Mott stand in line for you! Don’t you have people for these things?? Can you call the apple store and be like, look- I’m kind of a big time celebrity… hehe…

  13. Chad B Says:

That is a pimpin hotel room. Forget the lifestyles of the rich and shameless, I wanna roll GV Style!

  14. monkee13 Says:

For an Internet superstar like you all you need to do is call the apple store (oh wait you cant call), pull up google maps (oh wait no net connection) and gps your way there ( oops no gps) and tell apple you need a new one now. I’m sure there is a Vayniac working there that could hook you up.

Hope you have a good time here in Chicago.

  15. Jeff Says:

    Oh no! GV that sucks!!!

  16. Dan Robbins Says:

Glad to see you did get a Flip cam! This should be interesting….

  17. Leif erik Sundstrom Says:

I don’t know Gary, my iPhone makes delicious swedish pancakes and homemade lingonberry jam. Does your iPhone do that? Pretty unique huh?

  18. Shane Says:

One of the good things about living in a small town in Mississippi = TONS of iPhones at the AT&T store.

  19. Nick Pettit Says:

I figured someone as connected as you, Gary, would be able to obtain a 3G pretty easily. However, I just saw on Twitter that Cal Henderson and Carson had to wait in line like everyone else. It goes to show that the Web 2.0 superstars are really just regular peeps, like the rest of us. :)

It would be smart of Apple to hook you up with one though. You should try and get in there, especially after they featured WLTV on iTunes.

  20. Nick Pettit Says:

Scratch that… just saw your tweet about getting a white 3G. Congrats!

P.S. The Thunder Cruise looks amazingly epic!

  21. tommylane Says:

Sorry about your old iphone. Congrats on acquiring the new white 3G model. I got an Agent 18 case for mine. A similar Agent 18 case protected my first generation iphone very well and I dropped it hard a couple of times. Nothing happened to it at all. Not a scratch. It really protects that power button very well, too.

  22. campo Says:

Hey Gary, I did the exact same thing to my original iPhone with the power button! It just kept turning on and off like that until the battery eventually died. Apparently that’s one of the benefits of making the new iPhone with a plastic casing though is that those types of dents are less likely to happen! Enjoy the new one, I’m loving mine

  23. Rowland Says:

yo apple sucks. You wouldn’t buy any other product that deviated so drastically from the international standard. You wouldn’t buy a car that you sit backwards in, drive with a joy stick, and has 3 wheels, because thats not how a car works. so they make popular phones and MP3 players, give it 5 years and Sony will make them better (its the story of all American technology).
I believe there was a saying back in the 60’s or 70’s … “KILL YOUR TV.” Well its 2008, and I say KILL YOUR CELLPHONE.

  24. Rick Says:

    Nice flip.

  25. Ingrid Says:

got me a 16GB iPhone 3G, G! ..and it’s H.O.T ….hope you get your hands on one soon! keep on doin your thing, wine star!!!
    come to the UK!!!

  26. Jeff Ward Says:

You should go for a 3G bPhone just like mine! http://snipr.com/3gbphone

  27. Toke-Dawg Says:

My brother’s iPod did the same startup thing for a few weeks. He sent it in and they wouldn’t fix it so he had to buy a new one. Apple sucks.

  28. 4four1ones Says:

    so sad.

  29. nmyra Says:

Time for a 3G, Gary. If I remember correctly how much you used your old one, you’ll probably have to recharge the 2.0 about 3-4x a day. :)

  30. adomar Says:

happened to me once too (to have the power button jammed) and all I needed was a cutter to force the button up by lifting it from one side. It worked, so I’m still enjoying 1.1.4
