This year will be my 7th SXSW, and this time around my keynote will be going meta. I’ll be talking about the best ways to get the most out of your time in Austin, and this Slideshare deck is sort of a preview of everything I’ll be talking about. Think of this as an appetizer.
This is one of the most involved, in-depth interviews I’ve ever done! Will doesn’t hold back and neither do I. There is a bit more salty language than the average interview, but in this case I think that’s a plus. Watch and let me know what you think!
My new “on the record” keynote. This is a great example of taking my entire content philosophy getting boiled down perfectly into 15 minutes. Give it a look and tell me what you think. It’s a perfect video to send to your friends when you’re trying to explain what I’m all about.
Some people will choose to be scared by privacy concerns. They are on the defense and they will lose. Simple as that. Humans are so vastly underrated by sensational new headlines, that all some people can see is this weird scary downside. I’m not like that, and that is why I’m winning.
Cyber Monday is becoming a very real thing. You have all of these oldschool brick-and-mortar brands looking at companies like Amazon and realizing that they need to get into the game, so now you have really active participation coming from places like Macy’s, and major misses coming from places like Sears.
I’ve got a ton of respect for Michael, but I really feel like he was looking at me through too narrow of a lens.
And on the topic of being “able to achieve Gary Vaynerchuk results without having to put in Gary Vaynerchuk hours.” — I *like* putting in Gary Vaynerchuk hours!
My best keynote in years!
How about doing a random act of kindness for a customer you already have, and not one who just unsubscribed? How about auditing your time, finding the dumb shit you’re doing, and reallocating even the smallest portion of it toward caring about your end consumer? The acquisition has been mapped. Now it’s all up to us as brands to start acting like humans again.
