How I Create and Preserve Company Culture

I am the head of HR as much as I am CEO. It’s one thing to say you care about your employees, but its another thing entirely for you to put in the work and execute against it.

That was so well said. You are so right when you say that most companies don’t care that much about their customers or their employees.. Also, in my opinion, the real role of the CEO is to take care of 3 things:

    - Build and maintain a Culture, intentionally. Whatever culture you may want to build. Do it intentionally.
    - Be connected to the reality (of your business or customers). Most CEO’s become so busy in their work and due to hierarchy that they lose touch with the reality and that is the most important reason why successful companies start failing.

That’s pretty incredible – 3 to 4 hours per day listening to people! Another practice that doesn’t scale (just like being thoughtful and going the extra mile with a customer), but that’s incredibly effective.

    Great stuff, Gary.
