2018 was really the year I noticed more and more people go out and “document” their own journeys, which was super exciting to see. As always, thank you, thank you, thank you for all your attention and love this year!!

A common theme in these DailyVees: if you want to be great, you have to work your ass off and love what you do.

Here are the top ten DailyVees from 2018! Share this article on Twitter and let me know which one was your favorite 😉

1. DailyVee 416: My Honest Opinion on Hard Work, Hustle, Rest, and Sleep

If you truly love what you do, it won’t feel like you’re actually working.

Even though I talk a lot about hard work and hustle, I still take some time off on the weekends to spend with my family, watch Jets games, and rest. On top of that, I take 4-7 weeks of vacation every year and take that time to disconnect from work and be present with my family. Just because I put so much emphasis on working hard doesn’t mean that I’m even remotely trying to say that you shouldn’t be sleeping or not resting.

What I’m trying to say is that you should be using the time that you have while you’re awake in the most productive way possible.

2. DailyVee 457: How to Start to Believe in Yourself

If you weren’t raised in an environment where you were encouraged to believe in yourself, establishing your self-belief will be centered around surrounding yourself with people who can help you believe and consuming content that motivates and inspires you.

I genuinely believe that if you consume my content on a consistent basis, I can help you get to where you need to be — even if your mom, dad, brother, sister, or anyone else has been dragging you down.

3. DailyVee 402: Why My Personal Brand Is Successful

There is a lot of value in this episode for those of you that are working on your personal brands or generally just trying to grow your audience online. The first step is to be self-aware of what you can actually add to the conversation in our society. Being a personal brand for the sake of being a personal brand is usually the quickest way to not be a personal brand.

The main reason why my personal brand “GaryVee” is so successful is because I didn’t create a personal brand just to have one — I did it because I was disproportionately knowledgeable about the 5-10 topics I speak about and was able to create value for my community.

4. DailyVee 501: How to Prepare for the Economic Collapse

This is something I’ve been speaking a ton about recently. Now’s a good time to start asking yourself “what if
”

What if the world melts? What if companies stop paying influencers thousands of dollars for a post? What if all the money gets sucked out of the system? The economy’s been real good for a decade but for some of you, it’s all you’ve known. I promise you that this won’t last forever.

What’s your plan when the world collapses?

5. DailyVee 488: Stupid Things to Do With Your Money

The worst thing you can do with your money, whether it’s $100 or $10,000, is to buy stupid things just to cover your insecurities.

Do you really need that home with four extra rooms that you never use? Do you really need to buy that new car when you can just ride the bus? Do you really need those extra five shirts when you have plenty already? Understand why you’re spending your money on these things and reevaluate your intentions.

I promise you, If you reinvest everything you make into yourself or your business, you’ll see that come back tenfold down the line.

6. DailyVee 485: Running a $200,000,000 Dollar Company and Making NO MONEY

Most of you would be shocked by how little I make from VaynerMedia. Honestly, I’ll make more from one speaking engagement than I will from running my company that does $200,000,000 in revenue a year. Why? I know money doesn’t unlock happiness. I also know what this looks like in the end. I know I’m going to have to eat a lot of crow in the prime of my career to build the foundation for the next 10, 20, 30 years of my life.

7. DailyVee 498: Why 98% of People Buy Luxury Cars

There’s been a common theme to these last three videos. So many people are working jobs they hate because they’re buying dumb, expensive stuff to impress people they don’t care about. People are struggling to quantify that happiness is the true ROI; not a mansion or a car or “looking the part” on Instagram. It’s such an important topic that we need to talk more about, and I’m so, so happy to see how seriously you guys are taking this.

8. DailyVee 390: Meeting With Jeezy About Buying Dying Brands to Flip for Millions

I was super happy that I got to sit down with my man Jeezy and talk to him about the attention and potential that he has right now as an entrepreneur and an artist. Building leverage in the relationships you have, as well as the relationships you make, is so important if you want to be able to cash in your chips later on and do something like buy FILA and sell it to Nike for a few billion dollars.

9. DailyVee 478: If You Want a Special Life, You Have to Do Special Things

If you want to be successful you have to sacrifice leisure, put in the work, and love what you do. Please understand that so, so many of you are asking for the world to come to you. You’re asking for something so massive — and something that only happens for a select number of people. I guarantee it won’t just come to you. It’s going to be incredibly difficult to accomplish, as it should be.

10. DailyVee 493: A 1% Life Requires Doing the 1% Work

Living a 1% lifestyle takes an immense amount of patience and 99% of the time it will not happen overnight. Stop caring about short-term feedback loops and short-term wins and losses.

As a bonus, I’m glad this video made the top 10 DailyVees of 2018 so you guys get to see one of the charities I am involved in, RaisedBy.Us: a not-for-profit organization that enables social good through employee giving, volunteerism, and community events. I think it is extremely important to give back to humanity, regardless of how you day, month, year is going.
